As you will be aware we are now allowed to re-open from the 26th April - with restrictions.
Those restrictions are maximum table of 4 from 2 households, maximum 2 hour stay, no alcohol indoors.
We are told this is for a period of three weeks and that the restrictions will be partially lifted on the 17th May.
It is with great excitement then that we confirm we will open at 10am for the weekends of the 1st and 2nd May, the 8th and 9th May and the 15th and 16th May.
This will be for the Saturdays and Sundays only until the next change on the 17th May. After that we can open a little more normally and from Wednesday the 19th we will be open every week from Wednesday to Sunday.
Sill feeling unsure? Here is some of the latest feedback on current restrictions and measures in place:
"Dining out during the current Covid circumstances could be perceived as quite stressful. But at Fennel it couldn't be further from the case -hand sanitizers, one way systems, plastic 'shields' between tables all put your mind at ease. But at the same time don't impose on the dining experience. The atmosphere is relaxed with the most friendly and attentive waiting staff. They certainly have the customers safety as a priority as we watched the waitress carefully and thoroughly cleaning the table and chairs between service, and wipe the menu page by page. And the food is amazing, creative and tasty. What you get is a gastronomic experience of imagination and quality produce. Inverurie really has so much to offer residents and visitors alike." ***** Btracyt, Trip Advisor
"Our first visit since lockdown and we were not disappointed! Lots of additional precautions put in place to make us feel safe without it feeling too clinical or industrial. The staff were extremely attentive and professional and clearly had training on the new Covid procedures. The restaurant was busy but had plenty of space for distancing and at no point did we feel concerned about people being close to us. Loved the new menu, the food was delicious and expertly presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone not sure about going in these uncertain times! Thank you to the wonderful people at Fennel for making things feel a bit more 'normal' again. Can't wait to go back!" ***** Trip Advisor
How long do I have after closing time to finish drinks etc under these new rules?
None. The new rule is a CURFEW, therefore you MUST be finished and outside by 8pm, not a minute later.
Can I book two tables next to each other to get round the maximum booking of 6 or 2 households?
No, sorry. With the new layout we don't really have tables next to each other and we are also required to limit the number of people entering together at any one time as well as noise and other factors. If you did book two tables they would be at different times and likely even on different floors.
Can I book a larger table at a future date on the assumption that the rules will have been relaxed by then?
Unfortunately not, in the last few weeks the rules have been significantly tightened rather than relaxed with little evidence that the situation will improve as we approach winter.
